Last night was my first time at the old log cabin. A friend had told me about it. It was an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious and our waitress. Keira was just so sweet.
This is a regular for us. This time we went for lunch. They have a nice lunch menu. I had a great filet of broiled walleye with a cup of delicious seafood chowder. My partner opted for the broasted chicken again. You get six pieces of dark chicken with a choice of potatoes. You can not go wrong with the homemade Au gratin potatoes. I topped my lunch with a nice Oktoberfest beer. The decor is really nice and the wait staff is great.

Food is always good. Service is always good, no complaints. Broasted chicken is pretty good. Seafood chowder is always my favorite if they have it. Fun bar area as well.

You can tell there is a lot of history within the walls of this restaurant and it was packed with locals so that's always a good sign to me. Our waitress was prompt with taking our order, and following up with us later for refills, etc. My husband went with the chicken taco salad and I had the log jammer plate. The shell on the taco salad was nice and crisp and the meat had great seasoning and was moist. My log jammer sandwich was the best prime rib sandwich I had in quite some time, both in the meat being tender & flavorful, as well as the fact that they weren't stingy with the prime rib. The french fries on the side were crisped to perfection.
It had been years since my wife and I ate there before we got married so we took our kids out for dinner. The place was decorated wonderfully and the staff was pretty friendly. Our waitress was quick with our order and drinks. The walleye was great and my son's cheeseburger seemed nice as he ate it fast. The chicken strips on the kids menu are great size and good flavor. The two pork chops I ordered were juicy and had great flavor. The cheesy onion hash browns were fine and crispy. We will return again in the future.
